Position: Production Technician
Job Brief
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable applicants for the above position for immediate employment. To add value and improve our operations by bringing an efficient and disciplined approach to the system. The IITA BIP in pursuance of its vision and mission seeks suitable applicants for the position above at its Headquarters situated on the IITA campus in Ibadan.
However, This role is centred on creating and keeping cassava seeds for IITA’s Business Incubation Platform (BIP) GoSeed and partner outgrowers fields (both within and outside IITA). The production Technician establishes and maintains cassava seed increase. The ideal candidate will work from Monday to Friday
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintaining cassava seed
- Acts as a bridge of constant
- Provides reports regularly
- Ensures fields meet certification requirements
- Maintains accurate and timely records
- Identifies and connects IITA BIP
- Establish a business Incubation Platform
- Collaborating with buyers for cultivated cassava seeds
Requirements
- Ability to cope with heavy workloads
- Knowledge of using different techniques to increase cassava growth
- Experience in conducting seed multiplication
- Strong knowledge of resource management
- Ability to innovate
- Proficient computer skills
- Experience with SeedTracker will be an added advantage
Qualifications
- BSc/HND holder
- 8 years experience performing a similar role in a structured environment
