Position: Practice Associate
Job Description
An investment consulting and commercial Litigation law firm is currently seeking a practice associate for immediate employment. As a legal associate, you’ll typically look to work on your specialist area, whether it’s property law, personal injury etc.
You will also likely need around five years of experience before you can be considered for this job. However, You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Gathering of evidence
- Keeping of client files
- Advising clients on solutions, and negotiating on behalf of clients
- Maintaining correct case files, notes and reports
- Conduct legal research from time to time
- Investigating all aspects of a case
- Conducting studies using laws or case law
- Communicating with senior colleagues
- Interviewing clients to find out about their requirements
- Ensuring that information gathered from clients remains private
Requirements
- Must be called to bar
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Time management skills
- Legal reasoning skills
- Ability to work with senior attorneys with ease
- Good knowledge of various legal contracts
- Strong organizational abilities
- Attention to detail
- Ability to keep sensitive information private
Qualification
- Must have a Law Degree
