Position: Nurse
Job Brief
The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) is an independent humanitarian medical NGO that was created in 2009. The mission is to provide medical care in emergencies. However, we are currently looking for a Nurse to fill the above position.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Offer psychological support to patients
- Provide adequate and timely quality nursing care
- Follow up on blood transfusion
- Ensure high standards of hygiene
- Make sure patients are properly received
- Ensure that patients with a lack of autonomy are assisted
- Assisting medical staff during consultations
- Carry out admission, surveillance and follow-up of patients
- Organize and carry out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions
- Ensuring that patients who need blood transfusion get it quickly
- Ensure blood samples are taken as instructed by the doctor
- Support the pharmacy in doing inventories
- Ensure patient safety by complying with the protocol
- Pay attention to PEP and report urgently any incidents
- Attend training and meetings, as directed by the Medical referent.

Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Nursing related studies or medical profile
- Must be registered with the Nigeria Nursing Council
- At least 2 years post qualified
- Previous experience with ALIMA or other NGOs in developing countries is desirable
Conditions of Job
- The contract term law in Nigeria law is 6 months, renewable with 2 months probation.
