Job brief

Greenlife Hospital require the service of a Medical Laboratory scientist to take charge of our laboratory department. Therefore, as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you are to conduct medical laboratory tests, experiments and analyses to assist in the diagnosis.

However, you are to conduct medical laboratory tests, experiments and analyses to assist in the diagnosis. Nevertheless, you will perform these tests using sophisticated equipment, including a microscope and use the data.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Examine and analyse blood
• Collecting blood or other samples from patients
• Monitor patient outcomes
• Maintaining laboratory equipment
• Carry out and interpret the blood group
• Conducts experiments seeking biochemical relationships
• Run tests for transfusion purposes
• Supporting scientific investigations and experiments
• Perform laboratory tests to produce reliable data to support scientific investigations
• To prepare specimens, samples and reagents
• Ensure regular maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Participate in equipment validations, calibrations, and quality controls.
• Oversee and ensure the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced
• Accurately record laboratory results and present to the pathologist.
• Ensure the safety of all data records generated in the laboratory
• Keep up to date with technical developments
• Adhere to standard laboratory safety measures and checks.
• Collaborate with other departments and be involved with scientific meetings.

• Strong knowledge of the analysis of blood
• Must be a member of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria
