Position: Mechanical Technician
Job Brief
We are a leading Upstream Oil and Gas Company with active operatorship of prolific blocks. As a result of our current expansion and development programmes, we are seeking to engage experienced, passionate, intelligent and resourceful professionals to fill the vacant positions above.
Therefore, to be successful in this role as a mechanical technician, you have to display a strong knowledge of mechanical performance standards and experience in a similar field of specialization.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns
- Performing repairs from time to time
- Carry out tests on mechanical systems
- supporting the mechanical engineer
- Installing and performing diagnostic
- Maintain mechanical service records
- Show expertise in working with a team
- Comply with company safety guidelines
- Handle personal tools for jobs
- Put into action mechanical maintenance plans
Requirements
- Good knowledge of operational and mechanical practices in an E&P company
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of offshore and swamp production engineering
- Ability to lead and direct multiple concurrent projects work in a team environment
- Must have competencies to prepare daily mechanical and operations reports
- Must be result-oriented and committed to company goals
- Support and assist HSES teams in ensuring compliance with safety
- Champion the enforcement of standards and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment
- Must have a proven ability to plan and lead projects
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must be capable of applying production, operational, mechanical engineering and management principles to resolve mechanical problems
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the oil industry with a proven track record of rotating equipment support
