Position: Marine Safety Officer
Job Brief
Worldwide Technical Services is a leading Engineering operation and maintenance service. We are searching for a Marine Safety Officer who will provide the Company with strategic expertise across the Group’s operations. Nevertheless, to succeed in this role the ideal candidate must manage risks and optimise revenue opportunities to support organizational growth.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitors that boat traffic and supply boat operations are well-controlled
- Upgrade safe work procedures on board as deemed necessary
- Monitors waste and hazardous material management systems on-board
- Observe all on-board equipment, systems
- Manage Permit to Work system on the unit
- Familiar with H2S hazards and monitor H2S content
- Organises and convenes safety meetings
- Manage oil and chemical spill clean-up equipment
- Act as Assistant Mooring on-board export tankers
- Coordinate on-board training system and safety drills, including debriefing
Requirements
- Good command of English written and spoken
- Meet requirements for certification as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more
- Meet approved education and training and meet the standard of competence specified in section A-II/2 of the STCW code
