Position: Financial Controller
Job Brief
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable applicants for the above position for immediate employment. To add value and improve our operations by bringing an efficient and disciplined approach to the system. However, The successful candidate will have to supervise the Payroll, Corporate Accounts, and Project Finance Units. Nevertheless, He or She will support the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s corporate accounts
- Overseer financial functioning against the budget
- Manage cost reduction strategies
- Prepare IITA Annual Financial Statement
- Provide financial and accounting support
- Inputs from budget holders and primary financial data
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports
- Identify trends and produce reliable financial forecasts
- Observe internal and external auditors
- Motivate and lead the finance team
- Continuously improve efficiencies
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of financial and contractual management
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in core accounting auditing three (3) of which must be at a senior management level
- Experience in working with a leading accounting firm
- Ability and proven track record in leadership
- Attention to details
- Good analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to work without supervision
- Knowledge of accounting software

Qualifications
- A minimum master’s degree/MBA in Finance and Accounting or any related fields from a reputable higher institution with recognized professional accounting certifications/licenses such as ACA, CPA, ACCA, etc.
