Position: Head Chef
Job Brief
The requires the services of an experienced and qualified Head Chef to manage the kitchen activities. The ideal job holder will be responsible for cooking a wide range of continental dishes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the food preparation process
- Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations
- Ensure variety and quality of servings
- Make the kitchen and the environment clean
- Design standardised food presentation guidelines
- Manage staff performance
- Develop and implement new kitchen procedures
- Maintain solid relationships with customers
- Responsible for food hygiene practices
- Monitor inventory levels of various commonly used items
Requirements
- Oversee the work of subordinates
- Arrange for repairs when needed
- Proven work experience as a Head Chef
- Strong ability in kitchen management
- Ability to manage a team
- Knowledge of food preparation
- Good oral communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to make use of a computer
- Positive and approachable manner
Qualification
- Degree in Culinary Service or related certificate
