Position: General Manager Upstream Operations
Job Brief
We are a leading upstream oil and gas company with active operatorship of prolific blocks. Therefore, as a result of our new expansion and development programmes, we are seeking to engage experienced, passionate, intelligent and resourceful professionals to fill the above position.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
- Must have sound knowledge of operational and technical practices in an E&P company
- Have in-depth knowledge of offshore and swamp production
- Must have a good knowledge of drilling engineering and operation
- Knowledge of reservoir performance analysis
- Optimization of field production, development planning
- Economic evaluation and production forecasting
- The candidate must be able to lead and manage multiple concurrent projects and work in a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate within and outside the company
- Must have worked in a managerial position for at least 10 years in a reputable E&P
Minimum Education and Experience
- A minimum of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in a core engineering discipline with a minimum of second-class upper division. A master’s degree or equivalent will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 15 to 20 years of equivalent experience in the oil industry with a proven track record of operations management
- Must have experience in field development plans, execution and management
- Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and communication skills to work in a multidisciplinary and multi-tasking team
- Ensure company compliance with all regulatory regulations
- Must be result-oriented and committed to company goals
- Must have proven ability to plan and lead projects and must be able to work under pressure
- Capable of working seamlessly with other functional groups to achieve company developmental goals
- Must be capable of applying operational, engineering and management principles to resolve problems
- Capable of representing the company with regulatory and government agencies
