Position: Field Assistant/Driver
Job Brief
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable applicants for the above position for immediate employment. To add value and improve our operations by bringing an efficient and disciplined approach to the system.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintaining the unit vehicle
- Complete vehicle logs when necessary
- Ensure the safety of the vehicle
- Report any vehicle defects or accidents
- Ensure the vehicle is ready for any journey
- Readiness for on and off-station activities
- Assist research and field staff with fieldwork
- Convey project staff to implement project activities
- Ensure the safety of passengers and other items in the vehicle
- Convey personnel and visitors for airport drop-offs and pick-ups
Requirements
- Good knowledge of roads across Nigeria
- Ability to work long hours
- Strong team spirit
- Must have initiative and high moral
- Good knowledge of defensive driving
- Excellent communication skills both oral and verbal
- Strong awareness of driving rules and regulations
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Agriculture or any other related field
- Four (4) years of research support experience
