Position: Crew Safety Officer

Job Brief

Worldwide Technical Services is a leading Engineering operation and maintenance. We are searching for a crew safety officer to support the company in accomplishing the Company’s vision by driving and coordinating the development of the assigned asset in line with the company’s strategy and objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manages on-board training system
  • Organises and convenes safety meetings
  • Familiar with rules, regulations, and work procedures
  • Coordinate oil and chemical spill clean-up equipment
  • Manage Permit To Work system on the unit
  • Able to familiar with H2S hazards and monitor H2S content
  • Upgrade safe work procedures on board
  • Manages safety reporting system on the unit
  • Ensure personnel executing hazardous work are trained
  • Monitors that boat traffic and supply boat operations are well-controlled

Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a Chief Mate Certificate – STCW95 Reg. II/2 and flag state endorsement of recognition.
  • Meet requirements for certification as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage and have at least 12 months of approved seagoing service in that capacity.
  •  Completed approved education and training
  •  Meet the standard of competence specified in section A-II/2 of the STCW code for chief mates on ships of 3000 gross tonnage
  • Excellent command of English written and spoken
