Position: Corporate Communications Manager

Job Brief

Worldwide Technical Services is a leading Engineering operation and maintenance service. We are searching for a Corporate Communications Manager who will provide the Company with strategic expertise across the Group’s operations. Nevertheless, to succeed in this role the ideal candidate must manage risks and optimise revenue opportunities to support organizational growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

Core Roles & Responsibility
  • Provide specific and strategic input and support to the EC and Executive Management in business development, strategic thinking
  • Implement a Corporate Communications and Branding Plan
  • Initiate marketing efforts that reflect positioning as a preferred industry player
  • Review brand associations to ensure consistency, clarity, and assimilation
  • Establish sources of equity and the current contributions to POP and POD, strength, favorability, and uniqueness.
  • Harmonize brand elements to communicate brand identity effectively.
  • Increase brand participation across the board.
Internal communication and administration
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build brand awareness, visibility, and internal/ external customer satisfaction.
  • Assess existing communications framework for gaps and efficiency.
  • Scout and put in place the required scaffolding to support communications strategies.
  • Introduce work automation aids for superior communications output.
  • Review guides, standards, templates, and media libraries.
  • Review corporate literature and core messaging in preparation for amplification across brands

Media Production

  • Begin scripting for production of corporate documentaries, while identifying suitable production companies.
  • Corporate photography tour to enrich corporate storytelling and support visibility efforts
Digital media and website renovation strategy
  • Assessment of digital media operations
  • Highlight competence and capability
  • Initiate and implement strategies to Increase visibility in industry gatherings (online and offline)
  • Harness paid media strategy and SEOs in line with organizational strategy
Internal branding and communications audit
  • Revise corporate profile messaging for clarity, consistency, and reach
End-of-Year Planning
  • EOY event(s) and stakeholder relationship management – prepare suitable gifts for business partners, notable clients, and individuals.
  • Source and produce corporate gifts
  • Begin bookings for 2023 exhibitions and events for increased brand presence and visibility
  • Review 2022 sponsorships and partnerships efforts
  • Plan staff end-of-year event and recognition ceremony
Publishing
  • Ensure End of Year Reports are finalized and published
  • Begin drafting the 2023 corporate communications budget and strategy
  • Publish End of Year Company Newsletter
  • Begin draft of 2023 corporate profiles and brand communications assets
  • Agency management
  • Review terms of engagement to ensure the planned scope is well covered.
  • Put out RFPs for agencies where necessary.
Publicity and visibility
  • Initiate plans for Q1 and plans for subsequent quarters in The Economist and other key and strategic media platforms
  • Visibility – Decide on virtual and in-person events in West Africa and begin preparations
  • Position for visibility to the wider continent
  • Share of voice in the immediate community through outdoor advertising
  • Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility
  • Collate and publish all efforts in the last year and draw up CSR philosophy and focus for the current year.
External Relations
  • Responsible for the External Relations team
  • Ensure timely Tender and Bid Management and identification of new opportunities
  • Stakeholder Management – NAPIMS, NIPEX, NCDMB and other external Stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver Weekly and Monthly Management reports to ExCo
Other Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team
  • Work in partnership with other Departments to aid continuous improvement and implement improvement programs (e.g., changes to working practices and organizational changes).
  • Coordinate work efforts of other departments to ensure integration and completion of work tasks against expectations.
  • Bring formality to the operational decision-making process and promote the efficient use of business resources.

 Requirements

  • 10 years post-NYSC experience in a similar role at a senior level.
  • Extensive experience managing travel, Corporate communication, People management, Fleet and Office & Facilities Management.
  • Customer Relationship: Ability to facilitate and accelerate the business relationship
  • Basic knowledge of Project Management
  • Able to capture meaningful data which in turn can be used to inform resource planning and business metrics.
  • Willing to work on a variety of projects and perform in multiple roles.
  • Budgeting and financial management.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good reporting skills.
  • High level of attention to detail

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field
