Position: College Bursar

Job Brief

The Enugu State College of Education (Technical) invites applicants from suitably qualified candidates for the above position. The Bursar is the chief financial officer of the college, and he or she is responsible to the provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the college.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Management of our budget
  • Supervising student, faculty, and staff accounts
  • Completing cost project
  • Direct the financial affairs of the University
  • Keep an eye on spending concerning our budget
  • Managing of annual budget
  • Conducting cost analyses
  • Prepare expenditure reports
  • Ensure compliance with university standards
  • Plan and update financial procedures

Qualifications and Experience

  • The applicants must be at least 35 years of age
  • Must be able to serve one full term of 4 years before or attaining the retirement age of 65 years
  • A good honours degree (minimum second class lower division) or HND ( Credit level) in accountancy or finance from a recognized institution of higher learning
  • The applicant must possess any of the following professionally recognized accountancy qualifications, e.g ACA/FCA, CNA/FCNA
  • Candidate must have held the minimum position of a deputy bursar/deputy director in an MDA/industry with at least five years cognate experience
  •  Evidence of attendance of continuous mandatory professional development is required
  • Evidence of ICT competence and proficiency in digital accounting

Conditions of Service

  • Candidates will be entitled to the privileges and benefits specified in the terms and conditions of service for staff of Enugu State College of Education (Technical) Enugu, and according to other conditions which may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the College and or the honourable commissioner fo education in consultation with the national commission for college of education (NCCE)

Tenure

  • The appointment of the candidate is for an initial period of four (4) years in the first instance. Candidates may be eligible for reappointment for a second term of four (4) years subject to institutional evaluation of satisfactory performance.
