Position: Chef

Job brief

We require the services of an experienced Chef to manage our kitchen activities. The ideal job holder will be responsible for cooking a wide range of continental dishes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the food preparation process
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations
  • Ensure variety and quality of servings
  • Make the kitchen and the environment clean
  • Design standardised food presentation guidelines
  • Manage staff performance
  • Develop and implement new kitchen procedures
  • Maintain solid relationships with customers
  • Responsible for food hygiene practices
  • Monitor inventory levels of various commonly used items

Requirements

  • Oversee the work of subordinates
  • Arrange for repairs when needed
  • Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a hotel setting
  • Strong ability in kitchen management
  • Knowledge of food preparation
  • Good oral communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to make use of a computer
  • Positive and approachable manner
