Position: Administrative Officer

Job Brief

The World Bank is looking to appoint an administrative officer who will be innovative, and capable of navigating the shortest path through the Bank’s internal processes. Delivery of quality work requires high-calibre staff, striking the right balance between technical excellence, country knowledge, and client focus. This position is critical to the overall performance of the Bank at the Nigeria duty location.

The selected candidate will supervise the bank’s administrative functions at the Nigeria location. The incumbent will supervise about a dozen Bank staff and several bank staff. The position entails interacting with Global Corporate Solutions, Resource Management, Corporate Real Estate, Corporate Security, Health Service Department, IT, Administration and Client Support.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the outsourced administrative services for the office
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies and other protocol unit
  • Act as point of contact for consultation and queries on admin-related internal and external auditors
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure fit-for-purpose and aesthetically appealing facilities in the workplace
  • Implement the telephone and telecommunications policy, including chargeback processes
  • Supervise the country office mail, pouch room, mail courier services and office stationery supplies
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments
  • Oversee the Bank printing activities
  • Oversee operations of the Bank cafeteria and kitchenettes
  • Manage administrative procurement contracts and processes
