Position: Group Accountant

Job brief

One of our clients, a leading transportation company, urgently needs an accountant to work closely with the Female Group Head of Finance. However, in this role, you will prepare financial reports, perform account reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare a financial statement for the management decision
• Direct accounting staff and ensure strict compliance with all financial policies
• Directing the Financial and management accounting processes
• Ensure that all creditors’ balances are diligently
• Implement and approve accounting processes
• Plan and implement accounting operations
• Create timely and accurate accounting reports for senior management
• Preparing financial analyses
• Oversee the entire accounting operations system, such as reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Maintaining and reconciling the balance sheet
• Investigating and resolving audit findings
• Work closely with the Group Head of Finance
• Coordinate and integrate activities towards the achievement of established goals

Requirements

• A high degree of integrity
• Good accounting skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Stress management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in accounts
•  7 years in a managerial position
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Ability to manage staff
• Male preferred and must be an Igbo
• Able to make use of QuickBooks and ERP platforms
• Good practical experience with accounting software

Qualifications

• ACA, ICAN, or equivalent
