Position: Fiber Optics Engineer
Job Brief
We seek to hire a Fiber Optic Engineer to play a pivotal role in our organization. You will focus on designing, installing, and maintaining fiber optic systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct fiber installations
- Perform live fiber ring cuts
- Ensure proper grounding, bonding and fiber protection
- Maintain accurate records of fiber
- Test and certify fiber connections
- Maintaining project documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve fiber faults
- Monitor fiber-related alarms
- Conducting site surveys
- Taking appropriate corrective actions
Requirements
- 4 years hands-on experience in a similar role
- Ability to use tools
- Strong understanding of Cisco switching
- Experience with multi-vendor telecommunications equipment
- Knowledge of metro fiber, PON, and OSP
- Strong interpersonal skills,
- Flexibility to work outside regularly ncluding night shifts and weekends when needed
Qualifications
- BSc/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineeringor any related field
