Position: Quality Assurance and Quality Control Officer
Job Brief
ECOBasic Seed Company Limited is an agricultural firm established to produce foundation seeds of the highest quality and purity, thereby enhancing the profitability of seed companies in West Africa seeking to hire a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Officer.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate seed production
- Manage the quality assurance function
- Direct the activities of the seed testing
- Ensure compliance with best agronomy practices
- Oversee all activities of the NASC and ISTA
- Visits farm during the growing season
- Report on farmer’s complaints
- Create a quarterly summary of complaints and remedial actions
- Track and ensure farmers’ compliance with product stewardship
- Plan and continual improvement of seed production quality
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Solid knowledge of product stewardship
- Excellent knowledge of quality assurance
- Good understanding of the SSA agricultural biotechnology socio-political
- Strong quality management systems in seed production
- Knowledge of ISO is an added advantage
- Experience in seed production
- Must have a driver’s license
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- A working knowledge of the Hausa language is highly sought for
Qualifications
- BSc from a recognised University in Agricultural Sciences or related discipline
