Position: Director General

Job Brief

Our client is a reputable insurance association and an umbrella organisation for all insurance companies in Nigeria. However, the association decided to make sure that key roles are filled by qualified and experienced skills candidates. Therefore, we are currently seeking to hire a Director General.

Roles and Responsibilitoies

  • Build strategic direction
  • Develop oversight of the management group
  • Liaise with the Government across all levels
  • Create avenues to promote productive relationships among members
  • Develop strong relationships with individuals, institutions, or bodies
  • Communicating with regulatory bodies such as CAC, NSE and PenCom
  • Maintain constant dialogue with other trade bodies in the insurance industry
  • Create an enabling environment that empowers the management and the staff
  • Ensure best practices to achieve world-class market development
  • Coordinate the translation of high-level corporate strategies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 years post-qualification experience in the insurance
  • 10 years at an executive management level
  • Relevant professional qualifications e.g ACCIIN, ACCA is an added advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport across various stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Resilient and focused go gather
  • Exposure to best practices
  • Effective communication and interaction with regulatory authorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable institution
